On May 6, an academic Ombudsman attended an online seminar on ‘Diversity, equality and inclusion for Ombuds in higher education’. Representatives from European, US and Canadian universities took part in the meeting. The talks concerned how the coronavirus-related situation affects implementation of equality, anti-discrimination and inclusive measures. Experiences were exchanged and mapped marginalized groups were checked if they were the same groups as before or whether new exclusion areas appeared. Another meeting is planned at which ombudsmen will consider the role of the university and ombudsmen in responding to new areas of exclusion.
