What is outside the Ombudsman’s competences:

In compliance with the principles of neutrality and independence as well as the confidential and informal character of the proceedings, the competences of the Ombudsman do not include:

  • Making decisions or issuing binding opinions in a case;
  • Imposing sanctions on individuals or units violating accepted rules;
  • Acting as a spokesperson for the injured party;
  • Providing legal advice;
  • Providing psychological counseling;
  • Imposing a policy in any area on university units;
  • Participating in a formal inquiry or an institutionalized accusatorial process conducted by the academic authorities.

The Ombudsman does not act upon information or a report provided anonymously!
