What is outside the Ombudsman’s competences:
In compliance with the principles of neutrality and independence as well as the confidential and informal character of the proceedings, the competences of the Ombudsman do not include:
- Making decisions or issuing binding opinions in a case;
- Imposing sanctions on individuals or units violating accepted rules;
- Acting as a spokesperson for the injured party;
- Providing legal advice;
- Providing psychological counseling;
- Imposing a policy in any area on university units;
- Participating in a formal inquiry or an institutionalized accusatorial process conducted by the academic authorities.
