In order to begin cooperating on the formation of a communication strategy for the equality efforts being undertaken at the University of Warsaw, the University Ombudsman and the UW Equality specialist will hold a working meeting on September 12.
During the meeting, participants will discuss the creation of a structured communication strategy for informing the University community and its environment (candidates, alumni, the media, other universities, public administration, private sector, etc.) about the efforts being made and suggested forms of support in case of any issues.
The University of Warsaw has implemented many initiatives focused on promoting equality, in the broad meaning of the term – the University Ombudsman, as well as the Rector’s Committee for Preventing Discrimination and the UW Welcome Point which promotes diversity have all been active for many years. Recently, an Equality specialist has been newly appointed and before that, the Anti-mobbing Committee as well as the position of the Anti-mobbing Coordinator have been created. All these solutions are very innovative as far as the Polish higher education system is concerned.
Joint coordination of efforts will allow for better sharing of knowledge, good practices and information, which will benefit the entire University of Warsaw community.
The meeting will be attended by persons representing the International Relations Office, the UW Press Office, UW Promotion Office, the Volunteer Center, the Welcome Point, as well as the Coordinator of the Rector’s Committee for Preventing Discrimination, Coordinator of the Anti-mobbing Committee and the UW DELab representatives.
