Online equality courses for UW employees

We are pleased to inform that people working at the University of Warsaw can take equality courses online “Counteracting sexual harassment at the university” (in Polish and English) and “Understanding Equality” (in Polish, soon in English).

The courses are interactive and self-paced. After completing them, you can download a certificate confirming that you have acquired knowledge in the field of equal treatment.

The course “Counteracting sexual harassment at the university” is part of the UW’s equal education program. It was prepared by Joanna Piotrowska, president of the Feminoteka Foundation and the course was supervised by dr hab. Julia Kubisa, prof. UW.

By taking part in the course you can:

• gain knowledge about the phenomenon of sexual harassment: definitions, legal framework, statistics,
• get to know the myths about sexual harassment that are most common in our society,
• find out what the consequences of sexual harassment are,
• find out how to react and where to seek help at the UW.

The aim of the “Understanding Equality Course” is to bring the issues related to equal treatment closer to the academic community. The course was developed by experts dealing with equal treatment issues, under the substantive supervision of Anna Grędzińska and dr hab. Julia Kubisa from the Equality Team.

Participation in the e-course will allow course participants to:

• gain knowledge about what discrimination is and what consequences result from it,
• take a look at their own attitude towards the topic of gender equality,
• develop basic skills in responding to discrimination,
• gain practical knowledge about the possibilities of support at the UW.

How to complete courses?

Courses are located on the Kampus platform. To join a course, log in to the Kampus platform, courses will be visible in the My courses -> Available courses tab (https://kampus.uw.edu.pl/available_courses_teacher). The course can be interrupted and returned to at a convenient time. After completing and passing the course, each participant can download a certificate confirming completion of the course.
